Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how KA Method®, owned and operated by its founder, Katherine Anne Kaplan ("KA Method®", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit this website, book a session, register interest in a training, or otherwise interact with us. We respect your privacy, and we collect only what we need to serve you.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this website (for example, registering your interest in training or contacting us), we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, country or city, your level of experience with energy work or the training level you are drawn to, and any message you choose to share. If you purchase anything through this website, our payment providers also process your billing details; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our platform (Shopify) automatically collects certain technical data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring links — through cookies and similar technologies. This is used for site functionality, security, and aggregate analytics.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you request;
- To notify you about training intakes, cohort openings, and related news when you have registered your interest;
- To process bookings, purchases, and enrolments;
- To operate, secure, and improve this website;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Legal bases (for visitors in the EU/EEA and UK)
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, we process your personal data on the following bases: your consent (when you submit a form or opt in to updates — which you may withdraw at any time); performance of a contract (when processing is necessary to deliver a session, training, or purchase); our legitimate interests in operating and securing this website; and legal obligation where applicable.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate: Shopify (our website and commerce platform), our email service provider (to send the updates you've requested), and payment processors for any purchases. Each processes your data under its own privacy safeguards and only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Independent facilitators listed on this website handle their own bookings through their own websites and email; information you share with them directly is governed by their privacy practices, not this policy.
5. International transfers
We operate in both the United States and Ireland, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EU/EEA or UK, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses implemented by our providers.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to serve you and maintain our training interest list, and purchase records for as long as required by tax and accounting law. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your Rights below).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access a copy of the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@kalikara.com — we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission). If you are a California resident, you have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct; we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Cookies
This website uses cookies set by our platform for essential functionality (such as keeping the site secure and remembering your session) and analytics. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the site works.
9. Email updates
If you register interest in training, we will email you about intakes and related news. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by clicking unsubscribe or emailing us. We keep our promise: no spam, ever — only training news and intake dates.
10. Children
This website and our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take care to minimise what we collect and who can access it.
12. Third-party links
This website links to third-party sites, including facilitators' booking pages and Instagram. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version published on this page, with its "last updated" date, is the version in force.
14. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests regarding your personal information, may be directed to info@kalikara.com.
